Art For my art portion, I embroidered a painted canvas to look similar to the belt of Ophiuchus. This incorporated perspective because I intertwined Art and English together, so in my letter entries, it indicated more about the background information. It basically refers to the astronomer Claudius Ptolemy's point of view. I took the information I used for my journal entries and put it into art for my project. I also included the myth of Ophiuchus in both because I had chosen a certain culture to represent and the one that stood out was Greek mythology. I used the thinking skill perspective, because I made sure to understand the way Claudius Ptomley thought and why he always imagined this contestation as an astrological sign. Perspective was used by the way the information was referencing the though process Ptolemy had and his visual for the star.
English In my English portion, I have constructed 4 journal entries, each with a different purpose. They all come from the astronomer Claudius Ptolemy's perspective, since he is the founder of Ophiuchus. Each entry conveys a new message to the finding of this constellation, that has some sort of component to the perspective. In addition, I also read a book that revolves around all of the official 12 zodiac signs. For one of my entries, it talked about the compatibility between each sign and I go t all of my key information from this resource. Overall this portion includes perspective because these entries are of Ptolemy's research that is just put into his words. I used the thinking skill but writing the final product in the perspective of Ptolemy and how he though the start could've been a zodiac sign. I used his perspective in the journal entries as if he was logging his own information and how he would've interpreted the constellation.
Social Studies For my Social Studies aspect, I created a simple google slideshow that represent the Space Race and the perspective of each side of the race. I began with giving background information of what the Space Race was and then I started to express the perspective of both the U.S and the Soviet Union. I the formed 2 slides that fully explained the stand point of each side. In conclusion, the slideshow gave information on a NASA event called "The Space Race," and how the U.S and Soviet Union took part of it. This product included perspective because I clarified the reasoning behind the Space Race from each sides perspective. Each perspective had different morals and information so I referenced them in the key information included in the slideshow.
