English
For my English portion of project two, I read "Ruin and Rising" by Leigh Bardugo, as a form to gain context on the perspective of the Darkling. Throughout the process of reading the book, I made a log explaining what happened chapter by chapter, as well as questions, unknown vocabulary, definitions and theories I had for the future. For the actual product, I wrote a political speech in the antagonists perspective on how he believes in monarchy. For research, I looked at several rhetoric devices that make a speech better and improves its values. I also looked at tips on making any speech more impactful, and using that research, I incorporated the techniques into my speech.

Art
For my art product, I constructed a map on a cork board that is marked with all of the important journey points of the book. In the front of the book, it included a reference page of what the maps look like, so I used that as a guide. For research content, I read several book on different types of map and what information they convey. Also looked at the history of cartography while getting facts about the difference between map making and mapping. I overall created a cork board map to replicate the map used in the "Shadow and Bone" trilogy but only pinpointing the locations of the last book.

Global Studies
Similar to the English product, I created a political speech in the perspective of the Meiji monarch, Mutshuhito. I researched all about the Meiji Restoration and how it impacted the Japanese history. During this time, Mutshuhito made his decisions based on westernizing the country and he felt a sort of entailments due him being the ruler. He believed in the idea of monarchy in Japan, general in any country. I used my connotation of his thoughts in the speech and looked at some quotes he said during that time, to implement them into my writing. Overall, this product conveys the mindset of Mutshuhito in the Meiji Restoration
