In this shared partner project, my partner and I based it off of the the responses Disney has made to explain their reasoning as to why they deemed it necessary to inaccurately tell the story of Pocahontas. The main concept of what we had researched will derive from direct quotes that Disney producers have said. With all the information that we retained, we created a final product with an in-depth synopsis and a Q/A with the "directors" about their reasons behind certain changes and concepts that they felt were necessary to change in order to make it acceptable for younger viewer.

Civics
In this area of our project, We planned to explore how the amendments defining the rights of every citizen that provided equal protection were only granted to the wealthy, white landowning men during this time period. We wanted to define what they viewed as equal protection during their time as unequal protection today, more specifically, the inequalities and injustices that the Native American community faced because of the viewpoint of the founding fathers. Final product wise, we curated a rewritten version of the Bill of Rights to make it more applicable to all citizens, including Native Americans.

Art
For our art aspect, our intentions were to create a cardboard dress as a type of representation of reusing materials that are generally wasted by the general population. We found through research, that most tribes in Native American culture try to reuse much of their materials so nothing can wasted. To specifically match the main parts of our project, we looked primarily into the tribe Pocahontas was born into. We took this information into consideration when thinking of everyday materials that people typically don't see much more use for. That is how we go into the idea of cardboard since its uses are limitless. Throughout our creating process, we ran into many struggles such as rips and incorrect measurements. The hardest part of the entire project was deafly the pasting each piece for the skirt but after some trial and error, we got the hang of it. The reasoning is being added to our project with the research and process behind our product in hope of portraying the beliefs of Native Americans and using all parts of hunted animals.
